18” X 22” hole cut in fuel tank for cleaning and patching access.


Microbial growth (sludge, algae) on bottom of tank prior to cleaning. Bright particles are metal filings from cutting into tank.

Tool set up.

Custom made access cover. Small hatch in center allows reach through for putting on nuts and washers on inside of large hatch.

Corrosion of tank bottom. This is the result of water and sulfur in diesel fuel trapped in “algae” on tank bottom.

Cleaned tank bottom. Wire wheeled before applying epoxy sealer.
